Our instructor courses are ideal for lifeguards, coaches, healthcare providers, and anyone passionate about safety and emergency preparedness. Through a combination of hands-on practice, real-world scenarios, and expert guidance, you’ll learn how to effectively teach, evaluate, and certify others in critical lifesaving techniques.

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.

The CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO) Instructor course prepares candidates to confidently teach and certify others in professional-level lifesaving skills. As an instructor, you will learn how to deliver engaging, high-quality training that equips participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants until advanced medical personnel take over. This course follows the latest guidelines established by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), as well as the most current standards from the American Red Cross, including Aquatic Guidelines and Best Practices. These guidelines are grounded in the latest scientific research and are continuously reviewed by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council to ensure accuracy and effectiveness. Instructor candidates will gain hands-on experience practicing teaching techniques, running scenarios, and evaluating student performance. By the end of the course, you will be fully prepared to lead CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers classes, uphold national training standards, and confidently certify participants in these critical lifesaving skills.

Emergency Medical Assistance
